True Bloods Anna Paquin And Stephen Moyer Signed 'Venice Magazines' Up For Auction

The countdown has begun for Bertie and James, the courageous rowers of Facing the Atlantic. In exactly 6 months they will start their epic race across the Atlantic in order to raise money for Facing the World. On December 4th they will start from La Gomera, hoping to arrive in Barbados 60 days later…
In their honor we launch another charity auction today.
Stephen Moyer and Anna Paquin were both featured on Venice Magazine and they both signed their cover for us. Stephen and Anna are extremely busy at the moment wrapping up the last episodes of True Blood, but we are very happy that Bill and Sookie wanted to stand in for them and pose with the magazines. We send a special thank you to both of them.
The magazines feature Stephen and Anna extensively with a beautiful photoshoot and several pages of interview. Anna’s magazine comes with a bonus: it contains also an interview and photoshoot with Sam Trammell.
So hurry over to eBay and place your bid! http://r.ebay.com/RSmPOJ
The auction ends on June 11.

All proceeds minus fees of this auction are donated to Facing The Atlantic.

Well Done Truebies 'Tony The Tiger Will find New Home'

Well done Truebies, A month ago we reported that Kristin Bauer had joined the fight to give a better life to Tony, a 10-year-old Siberian-Bengal tiger, who spends his lonely days as an attraction at a Louisiana truck stop.
After a lawsuit filed by The Animal Legal Defense Fund and more than 30,000 signatures were collected on the online petition, a judge in East Baton Rouge District Court granted the Animal Legal Defense Fund’s (ALDF) request for a permanent injunction against the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, preventing the Department from renewing the annual permit that allows Michael Sandlin, owner of Grosse Tete’s Tiger Truck Stop, to display Tony.
Tony is scheduled to be moved from his current home at a truck stop to a new location by the end of the year.

True Bloods Kristin Bauer Supports Animal Rights

As any real Truebie knows, True Blood’s Kristin Bauer is a hugh animal advocate and on Saturday, February 12, 2011 she attended an exclusive celebrity benefit for the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine Legislative Fund (PCRM LF) with other celebs like Moby, Oprah chef Tal Ronnen, Elizabeth Kucinich, and Skinny Bitch author Rory Freedman.

The organization is an offset of the partner group PCRM, which has famous celeb advocates like Alicia Silverstone and Alec Baldwin. But PCRM LF aims to raise awareness for preventative medicine and ethical research, including eliminating testing done on animals (they were a huge part of the reason why NASA’s testing on squirrel monkeys was brought to a halt) and promoting healthy eating habits as a means of preventing later diseases (their group helped to reauthorize the Child Nutrition Act).

So, just how can you get involved? Elizabeth provided some options, “Contact your members of congress, sing to the same song sheet, advocate legislation, ask members of congress to sign on, that’s what makes the difference.” And in terms of how you can help PCRM LF, Elizabeth said, “Because PCRM and the Legislative Fund is a new organization, we don’t have the budget of the larger sister organization PCRM, and the charity laws are different, where PCRM can’t contribute to PCRM LF, so we need the support because we can be effective.”

Essentially, if you want to rally behind people who are advocating for animal rights and anti-animal testing in laboratories, this is the group to support. And if you like kids (and really, who doesn’t?) then help PCRM LF raise the funds necessary to champion preventative nutrition guidelines. You can check out their website here, and even follow them on Twitter @PCRMLF

Kristin always lets us know who to help in animal causes at her twitter page here and facebook here. Follow guys, as we know Kristin is a truly amazing human being!

Twilights 'Breaking Dawn: Part 1' And 'Battleship' Footage To Be Presented At Comic Con

This year's Comic-Con in particular is poised to be perhaps the biggest yet. In a battle of screaming female tweens versus comic book faithful, Summit Entertainment will present new footage and the stars of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 while Marvel and Paramount will counter with likely the first public footage from The Avengers.

In addition to those two huge properties, Warner Bros. and DC Comics should be ready to share the first footage or at least images from The Dark Knight Rises, the third and final Batman film from Christopher Nolan. Other films expected to appear in some form include David Fincher's version of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, Men in Black 3, Marvel and Columbia Pictures' Spider-Man reboot, The Hunger Games, John Carter of Mars, Battleship (Alexander Skarsgard) , Prometheus, and Zack Snyder's Superman reboot.
